Privacy Policy

1. Overview
This policy explains what information PriorMark collects, how we use it, who we share it with, how we protect it, and how long we keep it. It applies to everyone who creates an account or submits a claim through PriorMark.
2. Information We Collect
- Account identity. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, email-verification status, and profile picture URL. We request only the standard openid, email and profile scope — we do not request access to your Drive, Calendar, Contacts, or any other Google service. If you sign in via magic-link email instead, we receive only your email address.
- Submission content. Any files or descriptions you submit to establish a claim. If you choose the Proof + Storage tier, files are encrypted in your browser before upload — we store only ciphertext and never hold your decryption key.
- Payment information. Processed directly by Stripe. We do not receive or store your card details.
3. How We Use Information
We use your name, email, and profile picture solely to authenticate you and associate your account with your claims. We do not use this information for advertising or profiling, and PriorMark does not run any third-party tracking or ad scripts.
4. How We Share Information
- We do not sell your information or share it with third parties for their own marketing or advertising purposes.
- We use a limited set of service providers to operate PriorMark: Amazon Web Services (encrypted file storage), Stripe (payment processing), and our email delivery provider (transactional account and claim notifications). Each processes data only on our behalf and only as needed to provide the service.
- The cryptographic hash of your submission — not your files, name, or email — is written to the Hedera public ledger as part of how PriorMark works. That hash is public and permanent by design; see the Legal Precedent and Technology pages for details. Your account information (name, email, profile picture) is never written on-chain.
5. Data Storage & Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Files submitted under the Proof + Storage tier are encrypted client-side with AES-256-GCM before they leave your browser, and we store only the encrypted ciphertext — we cannot read your file contents. Account records (name, email, profile picture) are stored in our database with standard access controls.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your account information for as long as your account remains active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing [email protected]. Note that a claim's cryptographic hash, once written to the Hedera public ledger, is permanent and cannot be deleted by us or anyone else — deleting your account removes your stored account information and encrypted files but does not remove the on-chain hash.
7. Children's Privacy
PriorMark is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to your registered address. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
